WHAT: In honor if the summer solstice...over 15,000 yoga enthusiasts welcoming the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere -courtesy of our most worn apparel label/best thing about the GAP-
ATHLETA.
YAYY: The rain stopped, the temps were manageable, the warm-up quartet steppin' to Michael Jackson loosened the crowd up- and THEN---a tuneful session of challenging (for us) yoga instruction by leading light Lauren Imparatore of
I.AM.You Studio (aka a rockin'yoga loft on Mulberry Street where one can
deconstruct to reconstruct)...

| LAUREN IMPARATORE...equal parts instructor/cheerleader expertly had the crowd move through poses without judgement. Frankly we could barely stretch-still recovering from last Sunday's Ironman 70.3 but the gal next to us- aka MS. GUMBY-was incredible-aerial splits and headstands included. Impressive-and she did not even break a sweat. |

| With songs ranging from Lionel Ritchie's Easy on Sunday Morning-to Frank Sinatra's iconic rendition of New York New York...the music really kept the flow for the true yoga practitioners AND the rank amateurs like us who needed some kind of WD-40. Didn't matter though---all had fun. |

| this is a luxury- a clean, flower filled rest room in Times Sq...by Cottonelle-who gets bonus points for the handout samples AND providing no where else to be found -bathrooms. Their #GOCOMMANDO refs how no one wears underwear with their fitness pants/capris/shorts etc anyway...imo really smart marketing. |
