LUXE BY CARMEN MARC VALVO-Spring 2015 Launch

A DRESSBAR Collection----by Dressbarn

NYC

Growing up-we always knew about the Jaffe's-good friends of relatives---and their store(s) the DressBarn…with vague memories of the first boutique in Connecticut.

Well about a few decades later (who's counting)---that vision to offer women---especially busy working ladies- well made, on trend and timeless silhouettes at affordable prices (really-crazy values!)…has been copied-for sure…but the original visionary company- still delivers-with 800+ stores -and of course- an online presence that can mail off beautifully finished, quality frocks/accessories-to whoever -wherever.

Carmen Marc Valvo and friends...
At the rather posh 102 Fifth Avenue locale-a packed gathering of employees, friends of... and media came to celebrate the latest collaboration between the super nice and talented fashion designer Carmen Marc Valvo-looking suitably relaxed after his sumptuous premium fashion week collection earned-  two flawlessly manicured, two thumbs-ups …and DressBar (DressBarn's designer focused offerings).

Bold florals, sweet lace eyelet overlays, and solid colors-in silky soft fabrics---delivered in feminine (and flattering-) silhouettes of smart looking sheaths and belted, gently pleated-waist defining- apparel...all wardrobe friendly-to dress up for cocktail hours or to wear under smart short jackets or cotton knits- for work.

Amazingly the prices are insanely inexpensive…the price tags we checked out clocked in from $58- $62. WOW.

Green is a wonderful color that says SPRING TIME!

black-with striking diagonal neckline, animal prints, and a lovely fitted black bodice over a sweet eyelet white skirt
printed, solids, patterned-tones look great on all skin colors

short and chic-or maxi dresses that beg for a pool patio party

WHAT ELSE:
fun-this photo app backed modern day take on the old fashion photo booth…yielded fast frames of time-lapsed,  b/w shots---of attendees posing for one-or 7---with an immediate print-out of one- and subsequent link texted to savor all the memories.
Grace under pressure---MARTHA NAPIER---never stopped painting-whimsically spot-on watercolors of attendees…and took special requests to change the utilitarian footwear most were wearing -to something more fashion-y!
special cocktails---handy-the recipes were literally- the writing on the wall
