HACHE Spring/Summer 2014 Backstage Beauty/Hair/Runway

Manuela Arcari-Designer
Westside, NYC

In what we used to refer to as the forbidden zone- an art gallery that probably saw life as a industrial something at some point...served as an ideal event space for the Spring/Summer 2014 HACHE runway show -an Italian line that always seems to be ahead of the inspirational curve.

deepish side part-front part was rolled under and pinned with shape up front to mimic what Elvis rocked-or our reference point-Joe Strummer
Meaning-for example, last season's inspiration was 90's grunge-a time period that's getting the look-see from scores of fashion labels now...

lots of shine----

This is a 'do-hair was actually a tad stiff...fun hairstyle to go out all night with

Wella Super Set---did the job

all the looks-
Eugene Soulemain did the pompadour up front hair...gathered in the back.
topknot in the front-rockabilly or Samurai style

Valerie Garland and the M-A-C pro team did the rockabilly make-up. Strong eyes, neat brows,  neutral glossy lips
a few key products used but who doesn't love choices!

Essie nails-pretty pink...

Final Look....

AND of course, HACHE's footwear selections-the embellished slides-a staple of this EURO line for seasons and now being put forth by many designers---at fairly ridiculous prices too. No wonder we saw Birki's/Birkenstock on loads of fashion feet this past NYFW.

RUNWAY SHOW:

FOR this season-HACHE merged the country rock of the 50's fused with the punk scene of the late 70's/early 80's...clean separates with flair-ruffled hems, apron like overlays that gave many looks a color block effect, pretty loosely pleated and slim (not tight) pencil skirt shapes-in cotton-y white and pastels- or in summery faded striped shirt fabric  ---used in the tops, also , thin studded belts for shape-and a judicious use of metal studs on jackets- for that punk vibe...a softened up one.

On the feet- comfy mules often provided the bold pop of color (red/black) in an ensemble...as well as studded slides.

From the run of show...

"Rockabilly chic style jackets fall over wide cropped denim pants, layering over pajama pants, creating material overlays. Cascading effects are created in skirts with washed leather and striped poplin, Micro belts enhance the silhouette and cinch at the waist of light fabric dress inspired by styles of the 1950s. The palette is almost entirely neutral ----when it's not stained with bright colors, red coral forge gritty pea coats, skirts and tops."

There were a few jackets...we liked this leather almost bolero type one-with studded collar...in black---and in red (see below for pic). Nod to the punk...
